Amateur Radio

The delivery of amateur radio qualification and callsign services is now provided by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). Further information may be found at ACMA.

A list of current Amateur Radio Clubs throughout Australia can now be found here: List of Amateur Radio Clubs (PDF 126.6 KB). Whether you are new to the hobby or have been on the airwaves for a while, Clubs are a wonderful way of getting in touch with fellow amateur radio operators.

Transition of Qualification and Callsign Services

The AMC Amateur Radio Office has been working closely with the ACMA to support a smooth transition of qualification and callsign services.

In support of this transition, please note the following cut-off times for services provided by the AMC Amateur Radio Office:

New Assessor Applications	Close 5pm on 30^th November 2023.
RPL Applications	Close 5pm on 12^th January 2024.
Examination Orders	Paper Assessment Requests – close 12 Noon, Friday 12^th January 2024 (Completed assessments to be received into the office by 2^nd February 2024.)
	Remote Assessment Requests – accepted from 13^th – 31^st January 2024 (Completed assessments to be received into the office by 2^nd February 2024.)
Issuing of Qualifications	Processing of applications/qualification issue to be completed by AMC AR Office by 12 February 2024.
Callsign Recommendations	Close 12 Noon on Monday 12^th February 2024.
