A thought leadership discussion led by a presentation from Dr Marcus Bowles.

Students and staff are invited to join Dr Marcus Bowles to explore what graduate and academics must do to meet the demands of the future world or work and the challenges confronting higher education in Australia. The session will start with Marcus presenting on some key points relevant to the industry today.  Each point will be focused on how graduate students can better meet the capabilities that employers value, and how students must be evidently employable in the future workforce - particularly in a logistics, maritime and engineering context. Through open discussion with the audience, the session will move to explore educational solutions being crafting across the globe to help employers meet the serious challenges of developing a future workforce while dealing with Coronavirus.

We aim to engage students and staff audiences online in a positive and interactive experience on a range of critical topics. We want you to get fired up about possibilities that lie ahead, irrespective of COVID-19 and turbulence in the global employment marketplace. Our emphasis is on the following points;

  • Securing industry experts able to provide inspiring insights that cut through the noise and hype
  • Gaining practical insights into how work and careers are changing
  • Why micro-credentials can accelerate employment
  • Providing a forum for staff and students to engage with experts in open and honest discussion on the real obstacles and challenges facing graduates

Speaker Profile

Dr Marcus Bowles will explore what graduates and academics must do to meet the demands of the future world of work and the challenges confronting higher education in Australia. The session will start with Marcus addressing five critical questions we have presented.  Each will be explored and insights provided to confirm how graduate students can better meet the capabilities employers will value and students must evidence to be employable in the future workforce - particularly in a logistics, maritime and engineering context.
