Coastal Seafarers are hands-on and dynamic. From running catamaran tourist trips and fishing charters to working on rig tenders and onshore vessels, seafarers are highly mobile. Our flexible courses are industry relevant and provide you with a globally recognised qualification that could take you around the world.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) is part of tertiary education which provides accredited training in job related technical skills. Qualifications range from Certificate II to Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma.
Coastal Seafaring is a VET offering which we have been delivering for over thirty years. Our training courses are conducted from both our Newnham and Beauty Point campuses, utilising our suite of maritime training facilities including our fleet of training vessels.
Our training courses vary from short Certificate II courses through to Diplomas. Each of our programs meets the competency requirements as specified by the National Standards for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) and are approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). Upon completion of our courses, you will be issued a Certificate of Competency, which is nationally recognised.

Our Integrated Rating (IR) course is an ocean seafaring training offered as a part of our suite of vocational education programs.
Please Note: The enrolment pathways and content of these programs will vary to meet the requirements of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Deck and Engineering Officer Licenses that AMC is approved to deliver.
